My climbing wall experience... it 'rocked'!! (pun intended)

I arrived around 1pm, not knowing just what to expect. There was a couple of guys in front of me finishing up their check-in procedure. When I stepped up to the counter, the girl asked, "Are you climbing by yourself?" I looked at her for a second, not understanding why she was asking me this. Then I noticed a sign - "We do not provide someone to belay" Hmmm.... crap. I just kinda looked at her and said, "Yeah, I'm by myself." Another guy behind the counter stepped up and said, "That's ok. You can probably hook up with someone out there to belay for you. Or you can just boulder." So I went in, took my belay lesson, then proceeded to boulder, which is climbing on the wall at a height less than head high. Not very fulfilling, but interesting. Another guy was there by himself, so we teamed up. I worked the rope a few times and then got to climb. Next time I'll know to ask someone to come with me.

Today the weather turned cold with a ferocity I've not seen in a while. This morning the temperature was 72 with a chance of rain. Then some crazy front moved through, dumping a drenching rain and lowering the temperature by 25 degrees. Tonight its suppose to be in the 40's. I'm gonna freeze my ass off!!!
