It never ceases to amaze me how people impose a daunting and overwhealming nature upon the simpliest of tasks. Need an example? Umm, let's see.... how about moving a trash can from the curb back into its proper place. These fuckers have left their cans on the curb for 2 weeks now. All this time they are accumulating more garbage. And since I do move mine (I guess you can see where this is going) they end up filling it. And this act in itself I could live with, given that I travel a lot with my job. But they don't even have the decency to move it around on collection day so that it isn't just overflowing with fucking trash and I have no where to put my bags. You see, these nice green plastic cans are big. Big enough to put about four heaping trash sacks into. And they all have a designation as to what apartment they belong. I guess literacy and courtesy go hand in hand.
FUCK!
It may seem strange of me to go off like this, but I am just about to the point of knocking on all the doors of my building (just 4 of them) and asking: 1) who the fuck is using my recieptacle, 2) why the fuck don't they move it on garbage day, and 3) why they can't walk their fucking lazy ass a whole 30 feet to the curb and retrieve their own fucking garbage can. Or I could go and get a small pad lock and affix it to my lid. I'm thinking that'll clear the situation up, but who knows? They'll probably cut the lock off and exert extraneous amounts of energy that they could have used to get their own trash cans off of the curb.
Other than that things have been going fairly well. Didn't do anything for Halloween
. It rained all day and I wasn't feeling all that great during the weekend so I just took it easy and watched a few movies. I had to pop in "Evil Dead" to start things off. Then I watched new Romero "Dead" film. It was good, but really didn't seem to go anywhere. People were still being eaten by zombies, except now the zombies remember human actions and emotions, to an extent. I guess it's still a social commentary film. On hold for later in the week are "Saw" and "High Tension". I think that should satisfy my Halloween gore quota.
This weekend I'm going on a little trip, so I'll fill you all in with details when I return. Got a fencing tournament in Oxford, Mississippi - home of southern belles and genteel hospitality. We'll see...
