This past Thursday night I was able to take my lovely (and very understanding) wife Lisa out for our fifteenth anniversary dinner... even though our REAL anniversary is today! What can I say--it's a work day for her and a REPO! night for me, so we took the night that we could take! Sushi for me, beef teriyaki for her at one of the best Japanese restaurants the Peninsula has to offer (and if you're in the area, look for "Ikebana").
Fifteen years... the crystal anniversary... and there's a crystal votive candle holder waiting for her as a surprise on her pillow when she gets home today...
We actually met through a book club--we were the first pair of "singles" to become a regular "couple" at the event, but that was after I organized a "comedy night" for the benefit of the group (but REALLY to impress HER). A little stand up, short films, cartoon and the feature BRAIN DONORS (a modern Marx Brothers tribute that still cracks me up--check it out)!
We eloped (though both sets of parents had a sneaking suspicion what we were up to)--private ceremony in the Chapel of the Bells in Lake Tahoe. BUT we had a nice big reception after we got home thanks to my generous mother-in-law all the same!
We're still struggling to pay the bills and raise a family in a rather pricey area--but we're remaining on the Peninsula as long as it takes for us to take care of our parents (hey, they were good to us, right?)!

So, we've got some other special events to celebrate... including some birthdays of note... please give it up for Coccinelle...
...and the one who started it all--the first to "accept" me on this very site... it's Friend Numero Uno, Raynne!!
Meantime, we're going to stray off the Member Review pathway for a bit--with full permission, I'd like to call your attention to a beautiful shoot of SG Denie (you guessed it, I first knew her as a Hopeful and she's been a fine friend almost from the beginning herself) by polymerboy...
...and my spiffy pal Peachee put together a selection of favorite shots from a set that did NOT get submitted... again, with her express permission, I'm delighted to share!
