so i have to swallow my pride and admit that my football scouting skills are not what i sometimes make them out to be. The Philadelphia Eagles have made it to the Super Bowl fair and square, although not as convincingly as some might think.
Not to underscore the victory of Philly's offense over the top ranked Falcons defense...but i don't think the Eagles have played a club with the tenacity or the post season ability of the New England Patroits.
I find the Eagles have a legitimate stake in the Bowl as any other team, but even with TO back in the slot...do they have what it takes to unseat the current champions?
we are fortune enough to bear witness to a new type of dynasty that is stalwart against even the most voracious of salary cap and free agency trading. Tom Brady and Bill Billichick have invented the consumate football team of the new millenium...does Donny have enough gas in the tank to take the game to them?
i know my friend Akira will testify that indeed they do...and although I am not thoroughly convinced that this is the Eagles finest season, its not about what got you there...its about what you do once you've made it to the dance.
could the Eagles be the team that brings ballast to the flailing NFC? this could be the 3rd Lombardi trophy for the Pats in the last 4 years.
could this be the spark of civil war i have been waiting my entire life for?
Philly Soul vs. Beantown...man, it could get messy.

well a decaid ago the NFC was the dominant confrence, I supose it's just a cycle. As long as it's an entertaining game.

This is the Eagles year. our best defence in ages and our best offence possible ever (yes, even with T.O. at barely 50%) If the red Sox could come back from 3 games down to unseat the unstoppable juggernaut that was the yankees (especially after always making it to the divisional finals every year) and win the Series for the first time since Babe Ruth left, there is something magical in the air. biggrin
