Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in America. With it approaching, it led me to wondering, what holiday you prefer? My parents divorced when I was 10yrs old. This created a situation in which I rotated holidays between my parents. When I got old enough to drive, I made a point to go between both sides on the holiday. I tend to be a people pleaser. I wanted to keep both sides happy, and also see as much of my family as possible. This resulted in me seldom actually timing it so that I could eat properly with either side. Many times leaving with covered dishes, which I always enjoyed later.
So with that being said. I am sure you can all surmise my favorite holiday as I grew up, was Thanksgiving. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the spirit of all of all of the holidays. What I like most about Thanksgiving, is it always involved loved ones coming together to celebrate, and show thanks. Instead of exchanging gifts. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy giving and receiving gifts. Wink, wink. I'm sure when I was young, I preferred different holidays with goodies and gifts more so. As I got older though, it was always just nice, to enjoy good food with my family. My mother's side is straight from Italy. So the meal and experience, would always be unique, from my father's more traditional American feast. I always enjoyed my Nonnie's lasagna on Thanksgiving. As well as all of the traditional Thanksgiving feast. Until a stroke in 2014, I was able to remain very thin, despite a healthy appetite. Now I have a little more booty for you all to enjoy.
This year I'll spend Thanksgiving with my fur babies. Unfortunately, much of the family I was once devoted to has disowned me. They don't approve of my "lifestyle" choices. That confuses me greatly. I hold multiple degrees, I used to manage a children's boutique, I lead a chill and low key lifestyle, live on my own despite struggling with a handicappable lifestyle, and try to do so with some type of grace. I have a teaching background and psychology degree. I'm currently living in a more conservative area, so I try to keep that in mind. I don't hide who I am though. When it comes to being a suicide girls hopeful tattoo model, a #420pinups model, a #420nurses chap prez, and much more....I'm very empowered and want to empower others. I know sometimes family can be made through close connections in life. So thank you all for your support. I'm truly thankful for the opportunity to be part of this community of diverse inked beauties. I appreciate the support of the followers. Each comment and like means so much and takes me closer to my goal of turning pink. I have my 3rd hopeful set dropping on Dec.1st.
