One of the small inconveniences I am dealing with these days is that my new appartment is still full of people I don't know. So I have to wait for these people to move out at the end of the month. So, for the last week and a half, I have been sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor of a friend of mine who still lives up this way.
(small bit o' redskullistory: I went to architecture school up in ottawa from '95 to '01 - and still have a small group of very sad friends who can't seem to finish off their final design theses and get out of town. its with one of these friends whom I'm staying with.... I hope Slightpressure doesnt rip into that last bit of grammar, I rarely use "whom", and on occasion that I do, it probably aint gonna be right)
Watched Donnie Darko the other night. Laughed me arse off. We had the volume turned up kinda lound, and that part where "Head over Heels" by Tears for Fears comes on during a montage... well... probably the loudest that any T.F.F. song has graced my ears. And I'm so cool that I can abbreviate Tears for Fears and still say that "the Psychedelic Furs were fucking HEAVY", all with conviction.
Donnie Darko - watch it while youre very, very stoned. Be like me.
I only packed up a handfull of CDs when I moved up north, since I still have to go back to toronto to pick up all my furniture. Oddly, most of the Cds are by Rammstein. I've been listening to alot of Rammstein lately. that and the new Meshuggah album.
On a whim, I picked up a cheapo ticket for the Tool concert a few hours before they were to go on. I've only seen Tool once before, that was 10 years ago. Man alive, have they changed. I didnt recognise any of their songs either. Still, lots of fun... we had seats perpendicular to the stage and really close, if you saw the show, my seats were behing the video screen and about in line with the band. Kind of a new vantage point for me.
That was also my first stadium concert since Motley Crue's "Dr. Feelgood" tour back in '90. Tesla opened up...remember them?
I smoked cuban cigars and drank 18 year old scotch last night. I can still taste it almost 24 hours later. I guess thats what you pay for.
I'm going to close up the office now, listen to Rammstein on the drive home, smoke a bowl and fire up the gamecube.
goodnight.
