Well once again another time to blog and i'm afraid that this time it isn't a good or happy blog.
The past week i have suffered a tremendous loss in my life. The pub and second home to me has closed it's doors for the very last time.
This place wasn't just a place to go and get drunk, it was a family in there, everyone knew everyone, no matter what time of day you could go there and meet a friend and have a chat and drink, a game of pool and listen to some awesome music, whether that be live on stage or on the juke box.
The loss is not just for people like me but it is a great loss for the local alternative music scene, being one of the very last true metallers pubs in the city. It has left a massive hole in the lives of many. Since the landlord has ran off with the money the local authority has been in and condemmed the building so it will have to shut it's doors for a very long time.
The Marquee, Norwich, UK...may you rest in peace. My memories of you will never be forgotten, nor the times i've had in your walls. We gave you the best send off possible.
Have i any other updates...well i'm still teaching myself guitar, still working, still smoking. Oh i did finally get round to booking my Download Festival tickets, but to be honest i'm really struggling to look forward to anything right now.
I have found some true deep beauty in the girls on this site, just reminds me that the world isn't full of death and hatred. So if you are reading this, please feel free to leave a comment and cheer up this unhappy Redneck.
