Have just returned from the Desert in Western Australia , where the earth is coloured red with huge blue skies , dingoes and kangaroos , giant venomous snakes millions of budgerigars and cockatoos and yet silent and frozen in a strange ancient timelessness...near a massive stand of paperbark trees where the bark is feet thick in soft paper like layers ..down along the banks of a crystal clear stream with multi coloured stones in turquoise red green an every other colour with perch swimming everywhere and ponds with the strange platypus large quartz crystals shone in the sun and there in the early morning steamy mists were three Aborigines , grandfather , son and grandson sitting around a fire cooking a large Goanna..was a wonderful sight ..tasted like chicken. Took a helicopter around the awe inspiring Mesas in The Pilbara with their outcrops of ore and their perfectly level tops and then travelled down the coast to Monkey Mia where you can feed the Dolphin in the waves and the lobsters are so large and colourful that you couldnt imagine eating them and then further down to Perth to say hello to a couple of my sisters and visit my Mothers grave before coming home to Sydney .The East is so different .. ..so green compared with The West even though its crippled by Drought.....Sydney is always so good to see ..like a giant jewelled carpet glowing in the blackness of the aarly morning light fringed wiith white sandy beaches as far as you can see...and then home to my adorable Sam , Billy and Tattoo...Home Sweet Home..Feels like some strange dream.
