isn't it strange how no matter how much you add things up in your head and it all comes out even and you know you can do something crazy and get away with it pretty much without any permanent scars, you still get that queasy, eh-i-can't-do-this feeling in your gut?

because i'm driving across the country on monday by myself with only $500, a tent, a box of granola bars, and a carton of cigarettes. i know it's gonna be okay, awesome even, but this will be the first time i've ever been totally on my own with no one i know for hundreds of miles.

i will see things that i've always wanted to see. the horse country of kentucky, the arch in st. louis, kansas city, cheyenne, the great salt lake, the fucking rockies! the anxiety verging on panic will be worth it for these things. i know the excitement outweighs the fear because i wish i was leaving tomorrow.

in other news, friday is my last day at work and then i'm free free free for 3 whole fucking weeks before school starts. i'll be touring this great nation for the first two and then dogsitting for the last week. that last week is gonna drag, so everyone in the area should call me and offer free entertainment because when i get back from nevada i will have 5 dollars to my name. this means you.
