Sick, and tired.

I'm on this antibiotic that sticks to the side of my stomach like a limpet. Really unpleasant.

Limpet. Is that worse than a barnacle?

Hmmm. Was out for one night, and whaddaya know, the mouse has escaped. But has she departed the apartment? Oh no. She is currently quite happy under the bookcase. Every hour or so, she comes out, and hangs out nearby. Perfectly friendly. But when I got to pick her up - flash! Back under cover.

Luckily, my co-worker has a mouse-sied have a heart trap....

Thank you, my friend.

Did you ever catch your critter? smile
vaux:
I can relate to that. I think I was only online here to interact with the SF group, and that was just because it was in her crazy capable hands. Ah well...

She's on facebook? Come to think about it, you're on facebook too? I honestly thought FB was just one of those weird Toronto things. It really didn't occur to me that other people were using it too. That's pretty cool!

From the WSJ:

Riki Frank, 44, a graphic artist and stay-at-home dad from Auburn, Wash., leans toward Sen. Obama, but hesitates because of his personal background.

"I'm a white-bread American. I was raised in Iowa. I got the Midwestern work ethic," says Mr. Frank. "He's a black man. His name -- is unique. It's definitely not a Catholic name. He's kind of way off the...

Me: It (the new hard drive) isn't working.

IT: Uh, lemme check something.

(Switch places with IT guy, sit on edge of desk while he sits down and attempts to reboot.)

(Notice tools sitting on desk.)

Me: Uh, I have a question.

IT: Yeah?

Me: Is this the screwdriver you used?

IT: Yeah.

Me: It's magnetic.

IT: Oh. Fuck.

You express a preference for the U.K. spelling "grey," because the U.S. "gray" always makes you think of a unit of radiation.

By the way, I still have the mouse.

Edit: As joker points out, this will make absolutely no sense to you Brits.

So I wake up this morning morning to find a small mouse clinging to my shower curtain ("I'm dark gray against a white background! He'll never see me!") I suspect the critter was stirred up by renovations to the adjacent apartment. After some negotiation ("Come back here!") I managed to coax it into a box. The mouse's initial freak-outedness quickly gave way to hunger, and...

Leave it to William Saletan, contrarian bioethics journalist, to throw a wet blanket on the recent victory for gay rights (that's legalized marriage for all in California, if you've been like, living in a bunker or something.)

Being the sci-fi geek that I am, I've been concerned for a while that this might be the other shoe in the nature vs. nurture "debate." (yeah, debate,...

I know right? Any suggestions on what Lovecraft I should start with?

Also, Gaiman was surprisingly good. If you want to check it out, go fun.here for the free download. It is only about 45min long, and pretty fun.

I want to hear more about this MMO too.

Will do.

The other day I missed the ferry, and rather than drive and waste precious juice, I decided to take the bus. I normally avoid these metal beasts, since they deprive me of all the things I like about driving (privacy, playing the stereo, feeling the wind rushing by), and often subject me to all the things I dislike about driving (traffic) and pubic transit (crowding.)...

In other words, I was too busy to go to Prom this ear, and it bummed me out. Sorry if I missed you.
