Well Carson City (which now prefers to be called "Carson", apparently) is not exactly Vegas, but it was a pleasant place nonetheless. And even those who clearly wanted me to get lost were fairly polite, in that gentle Western brush off sort of way. But I'll say this: my personal experience matches the conventional wisdom, Obama supporters are a lot more excited to vote than...

Once you unleash the monster, it's hard to control, isn't it Senator?

Breathtaking ignorance and seething rage. Always a good combination for a healthy political campaign, no?
renna:
Hahaha, motor oil, eh?
I'll keep that in mind. tongue

I'm a software tester. I tend to keep my life separate from my SG existence, but the basics are these: I took voluntary redundancy in June 07, studied for a year (completed my bachelor's degree), and now I have a job in testing in the aviation sector. Which is nice, because I have a long-standing interest in anything that flies - dragonflies, birds, bats, aircraft, spacecraft... So it looks like a win on several levels.

You know, I used to laugh at those cheesy commercials advising people to buy gold to hedge against bad times. They looksed so stodgy and old and well, the ads were sort of cheap and threadbare. The whole thing supported my conventional assumptions - that precious metals are an archaic form of wealth, better used in jewelry or electronics than sitting in ingots in your...

In the middle of all this financial chaos and bad news, it's nice to know human beings can still get together and do something amazing:

That's the first rocket ever to be launched in orbit by private individuals, and they did it for a fraction of the cost it takes NASA to launch something similar. Someday, these guys may really open up space to the...

I don't know what's worse... that Peter, future Peter and Sylar are all stupid powerful or that the writers only ever show them using one or two of their abilities and then only when it's convenient to the plot.

Of course, that doesn't even touch upon the fact that EVERYONE has quickly become too dumb or too evil to be the least bit likable.

So everybody's panicked, the financial system is on the verge of meltdown, and come end of last week, word comes that the Administration and Secretary Paulson has a plan. The markets rejoice. We are Saved.

Then comes Monday morning, and people start saying, uh, wait a sec. Of particular note is this little gem, tucked away in the ironically titled Section Eight of the bill:...

good thing we don't have some sort of wingnut religious administration in power (not to suggest that everyone who is religious is a wingnut). confused

I don't think Congress will pass the bill exactly as written. They have more ego than that.

Damn the various embed codes sprouting up all over the web, damn them all to hell. It's like the Tower of Babel out there.

Tried to go to the DNA last night. Not used to - or down with - forty minute waits to get in. Well, it was something new, I should have expected that.

In my opinion, waiting at the club < going to the local for a pint.

I think we've seen the best of the interwebs. From here on in, it's just going to get worse; more congested, more hostile, more regulated (in an ineffective (alleged) attempt to deal with the congestion and threats).

You know you're working too hard when you wake up and can't remember if you are taking a nap after work, or snoozing before you have to get up and shower.

In other news, Brazilian rum is quite good.

Hmmm, maybe the rum had something to do with the earlier statement.

Took a hike last week in Samuel P. Taylor Park, in Marin. Big trees,...

I've had times like that.. I used to work so much and would always wake up not knowing whether I could sleep a while longer, or have to rush out of the door.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my Member Review set 'Entrepreneur', Darling. I'm glad that you liked it!
It's greatly appreciated.

OI haven't written anything overtly political for a while, but I'm in the mood to vent, so don't say I didn't warn you.

The cynical broadsides we saw in the presidential campaign yesterday have left me dumbfounded and frustrated. For those who weren't following it all, Newsweek's Andrew Romano sums it up nicely.

I honestly can't believe John McCain is the same human being...

yes, Super Ego is filling the hole of pop roxx as it is literally taking over the time slot that pop roxx once had. Super Ego will be different though, much more electro, fashion shows and I believe there are two live bands this Saturday. You should come by; Alex has roped me into go go dancing for the event.

I hate the car buying process. That is all.

You know, I was going to go on about the fluids thing, but I decided the entry was more poignant, so to speak, leaving it at that.

You would think fluids just exacerbate the problem though. I guess when the alternative is dehydration though, the lesser of two evils concept applies.

As far as car buying goes, if you accept that you're probably not going to get the best deal out there and, invariably, whoever sells you the car is going to rip you off a little bit, then it's only... pretty miserable.

Maybe you could wait a couple years (obviously not) and purchase one of those air-powered cars when they become available in the States (of dubious likelihood knowing the oil companies entrenched opposition to things that don't use... oil).

I bought a car this summer and I loved every part of it...but definitely had help. There's so much to consider and look into...That's what Dads, boyfriends and guys in general are for! lol
Anyhow, glad you could share my front page debut with me. Redheads Unite!!
