Perry Farrell's new band Satellite Party has signed with Columbia, which will release its self-titled debut album later this year. As first reported here last month, the project boasts guest appearances by Red Hot Chili Peppers members Flea and John Frusciante, plus New Order bassist Peter Hook.

Meanwhile, Farrell says Warner Bros. catalog arm Rhino is working on a Jane's Addiction box set. The label is also prepping the DVD releases of his 1989 short film, "Soul Kiss," and his morbid controversial 1993 movie "Gift."
