we saw the brothers grimm and the cave last night... we actually saw both movies. it was mildly unfortunate that we weren't too busy steaming up the windows, but i suppose the movies weren't too bad.
the brothers grimm was as many faery tales and references packed into one story as the creators could possibly combine without thoroughly confusing the viewer. it had a simple, sweet love story in there, and the natural conflict between brothers that, obviously, had to be worked out by the end in order for them to win. there was also the redeeming the dark heart of one of the characters too. so... too many angles, all tossed into a cursed wood and saved by one simple shot..... heath ledger being less than an inch away from kissing matt damon. it was brutal torture when, at that point will (matt damon's character) woke up and said "not you".
all in all it was very cute, even the pile of sludge that climbed out of the well and ended up being the gingerbread "man".
then there was the cave. interesting premise, fairly weak acting, and it would have been better if they really WERE demons. i suppose we'll find out in the next one, because just as it seemed the end was about to have closure, one big giant loose end was discovered, and then she ran away! literally... woman running down street... so yeah, i'm sure there will be a next one. i will, however, wait for that one to be rentable.
i have been able to eat since friday evening. i got more of the suppliment that i needed, and i'm feeling better already. you wouldn't believe how much you could appreciate some stir-fry frozen veggies or a cheap burger king cheeseburger. perhaps i'll be able to eat enough good stuff this week that i won't be fish belly white and sickly looking next weekend for my sister's wedding. which i'm still not looking forward to. i'd go tanning, but i misplaced my bank card, and unless i want to drive 45 mins, i can't cash my check... hmm maybe spott can take care of that for me. that would be good...
i'm off to get a cup of tea, and then i'll be on ym & aim... if you know me well enough to be on my lists, you know under what names
