today is FUCKING ANNOYING.
work is always fairly stupid. i got to coil bind enough books, without a coil inserter, that my wrist hurts. typing even hurts, but i gotta do it.
after all that binding, i took my lunch break and went over to weggies next door. when i was backing out of my parking spot to go back to work, i did my normal - shift into reverse so the world knows i'm about to move backward, look in the mirrors, and turn around to look around the car - thing that most people do before pulling a car out. i noticed an older couple a couple parking spots away, but didn't car cuz they were far enough away. i also noticed a red grand am directly across the aisle from me, parked, no lights on. i always notice grand ams since i drive one with regularity...
anyway, i started backing out, slowly because the old guy pushing the cart a couple spots away seemed to be not looking at me... a couple seconds later, i hear BEEEP! and felt <thunk>. i hit the brakes when i heard the BEEEP!, so i turned around, and there was the red grand am! i got out of the car, and the silly teenage bitch was out looking at her car, insisting that i had "SCRATCHED IT ALL UP", and that she "JUST GOT THE CAR YESTERDAY"... both of which were bullshit because a) there was no damage. not even a scratch. on either car., and b) the car was too dirty inside and out for her to have gotten it that recently. anyway, like a good, responsible motorist, i offered her insurance & license information and started writing, while she stood there looking EXPECTANT and acting as if the whole thing was MY fault. then i had to ASK for HER info, which took irritation right up to that totally pissed off level.
then i went back to work, punching in at least 5 minutes late from my break.
a little while later, i got a phone call from the little bitch's father. he introduced himself as "Officer Lake". a cop. i instantly hoped he didn't spoil his daughter. although his daughter has no tact and a quick to be stupid and rude persona, the man himself was reasonable. he was misinformed, however, and i had to set it straight that I did NOT hit HER. he said they weren't going to report it because there was no damage, and wanted to confirm with me that i wasn't going to either. i hadn't planned on it, seeing as there WASN'T any damage, and we agreed that it was going no further.
then i finished my work day, totally distracted because of the whole thing, and left a little early.
now i'm home. i want to relax... so that is what i'm doing.

abyssia:
thank you for talking with me today. i didn't realize until too late that you'd had such a stressful day - which makes your patience with me all the more touching. you are a true friend - even if i can't actually give you a hug in thanks.
