i just read ThrowDownTheMic's journal, and realized that sometimes the contrast between the the good and the bad stuff that happens in life can be enough to make a person want to hide forever. i seriously considered it. but then i decided that i have to go to clifton hill with my cam and witness all those SG stickers

I hear you on the contrast. The fluctuation between good and bad is overwhelming sometimes and puts me into turtle mode... I pop my head out but at the first sign of trouble i jump back into my shell.
Hiding is a useful tool. I keep it with me all the time. Of course that doesn't mean that I use it terribly often. I just like having it around.
