The nice thing is that I basically can make my own hours with this work, and I've got an idea as to how I will approach the work. Every day I will have a plan on...

I'm feeling a little down about my banner now because I had a lengthy conversation with Springtime (old sugarcube member, I don't know if you knew him) in my LiveJournal about ways to improve it, and the improved version is so much better than the one I submitted. I think the one I submitted will get rejected, but maybe if I'm feeling brave enough to step up to the banner-approval gods again I may submit the nicer version after a few months have gone by.

Yeah, hopefully I'm not exiled from home for too long... but actually there are some good things about it too, so maybe this will inspire me to get out more often!
I'm excited about the upcoming SG get-togethers. It's looking very possible I'll get to meet Siv

Its kind of funny, after your comment on the other forum suggesting me not to make creepy comments on peoples photosets I had to check back here because I know I had made a comment on blisss photoset, and was paranoid that maybe the comment could be interpreted in a less than charming stalker way. I dont think that that is the case, at least not in comparison to other people who have posted.
Leaving set comments can be difficult for me, because sometimes I'm practically swooning over the girl and I say goofy things. My biggest embarrassment on SG are the comments I left in Flux's sets (the one I have a crush on as my name suggests). I worry that I was creepy enough for her to put me on ignore. I may never know. I've since edited all the comments, but that might look creepy in itself. I'd like the chance to apologize actually, but I'm afraid to push it.
I definitely agree about Siv by the way. She seems to have a very interesting outlook on things; at least from what Ive seen and read, she has a very unique personality and is very intelligent. I saw her video and she said something that I found very interesting (and I am paraphrasing heavily): What is unique about SG is that when you meet someone here and you talk to them, you will know that that person is interested in your intellect, as they have already seen you naked and already know what to expect. Heh heh, I suppose that is true to some degree.
Yes, I remember her saying that in the video. It was really well put. Siv just melts my brain with her intelligence. Some of her journal entries and posts are pure brilliance, at least I think so. If you have some time, read the Ask Drunk Siv thread she started a while back. You've gotta see some of the stuff she posted. The alcohol didn't dumb her down in the slightest, if anything it made her even more sharp (if a little off the wall). I still remember "too ligit to quigit". I think my jaw dropped when I read that
That would be cool if you ran into her, I would be jealous! Take pictures and tell me about your conversation if that ever comes to be!
Well, I perhaps came close tonight! I went to the local SG Washington D.C. party tonight (SG Dierdre was there, I met her at the last party briefly). Before the party, many of the partygoers went to see the Dresden Dolls in concert (I didn't join them for that). I hear Siv went to that concert as well, but I'm not sure. She said in the regional group that she could maybe join us, but that there was another party she had already planned to go to. So in the end she didn't show up.
Interestingly, I heard that SG Morgan also almost came. I didn't realize she was local enough to have been able to make it. She's pretty popular here and is definitely a "big name", so it would have been something to meet her.
One thing I find discouraging is the fact that I'll leave comments in the journals of SGs, and I hear nothing back. Now, I know they get a bazillion comments because, well, they're SGs. But I know they reply to some comments from people they know. I have a hard time figuring out how to "make myself known" to people, so I don't know how to get an "in" with the people I'm interested in here. Some girls are good about replying, like Fenchurch. She's since friended me (she's REALLY awesome, extremely funny and so full of life). Twinkie too, she's a "LimboGirl" meaning her first set hasn't gone up yet, but her posts and comments all appear pink like they do for SGs. And it was Fenchurch who introduced me to her
But with the others, who seem kind of closed off, I'm not sure what to do. I don't know if I'm willing to become a "presence" in their journal comments, because I don't know whether I'm just annoying them or what. I guess making myself known around the site might get the attention of some of the people I'm interested in.
I don't know, I'm rambling. I guess these are the ins and outs of SG.

That's an interesting quote... despite my having burnt so much of my work, I still can't fathom anyone wanting to destroy their art that way. I wish I felt the same way back then, but what's done is done.
I'd LOVE mp3s of Carmina Burana! That is so cool, thank you! Hopefully I can think of some cool stuff to send with your letter. I should spend all day tomorrow on you guys' letters, and maybe Tuesday as well.
Oh hey, I could send you some SG stickers, if you'd like! Let me know

I see you chose Siv as a favorite! She's really awesome, and is mind-blowingly intelligent. She's also a Marylander like me! She generally doesn't make it to local events from what I've heard, but who knows, maybe I'll run into her one day

If you have any questions about the site, anything you're confused about, don't hesitate to leave me a comment and I'll get back to you on it.
OH! And one thing you'll have to get used to here on SG... if someone comments in your journal, you should reply in THEIR journal (try to make a reference to what their comment said, or better yet use [quote][/quote] tags, so they don't get confused about what you're talking about). It goes the other way too, if you leave a comment in someone's journal, they're going to reply in YOUR journal, not theirs. Nobody reads their own journal's comments, so you kind of have to play journal tag. It's irritating but it's a fact of life here on SG.
Okay, have fun!
I put $1.11 worth of stamps on there (three $0.37 stamps). Both Australia and the Netherlands is $0.80 for regular letters so I wasted $0.29
