Started the day by visiting the UWM library to pay up my fees. Ended up paying double what I thought I was going to have to pay frown (about 23 bucks!). I was a little bit shell shocked after that and left the library even though I needed to use the bathroom. I came to my senses and stopped in the building housing the English department, and I must say, the graffiti in the men's room in the english building is much different and much more interesting than the graffiti in the men's room of the Engineering building. Ha ha I know. I have a dirty depraved sense of humor; I find amusement in such things. If asked I could sing about a dozen or more dirty songs and recite numerous dirty limericks. One bit of graffiti I found amusing was "For a good time.. don't call me I'm pretty boring" biggrin Well, at least I found that pretty amusing.

Work in the lab was fine. I trained a graduate student from India how to use our optical microscope. Fun times. I also spent part of the day working on an annual report for this research and cursing the NSF for the crap they put me through to submit reports.

I'm looking for a single apartment on the East side of Milwaukee near the UWM campus or in Shorewood area, and after work I took a drive around recording phone numbers of places offering apartments for rent. There is one building in particular that at least from the outside, really interests me. The architecture is 1920's art deco to the t. Really cool, I don't know what the apartments are like but it certainly got my attention. Let's see.

Oh and another interesting development. (This is a really random update huh?) My father contacted the old roomate/friend of my aunt (his sister), and has asked to have her master's thesis from when she graduated with her MFA from Cranbrook Academy (I've been reading family thesis's lately as I just completed mine). You have to understand that this man is kind of a shady character and is very good at taking advantage of older people and has held my aunt's and family heirlooms in his possession that he probably has or will sell (my aunt passed away a number of years ago). He has agreed to meet with us and give us the thesis and I'm really hoping that we can obtain my aunt's paintings from him. I wouldn't mind paying for them but would prefer not to of course, as I think we do have a right to them. I really loved those paintings, they are very dark and interesting. If not I probably will never see them again. frown mad Let's hope that things work out and he has changed with time. smile
