As promised here are some pictures from mine nad Justins trip to Montreal for Canada Day weekend.

We nerded it up and did lots of touristy things like seeing the olympic stadium. I won the gold medal!

Justin won bronze. He's a bit of a sore loser.

We saw penguins at the BioDome.

And this weird little thing that was going to jump on us! I forget that it was called.

WATCH OUT RADIO ACTIVE MAN!

The botanical gardens in Montreal are sooo beautiful and well worth the metro ride out to pi IX. The Chinese gardens were built by workers from shanghai and all of the rocks, plants and buildings were donated by Shanghai. It's the largest Chinese garden outside of China.

This is a 155 year old Pen-Jing tree. It's less than 4 feet tall!

We also went to the Insectorium and some other gardens, which were also really pretty. We were heading for old Montreal in the evening on Sunday and it started to rain so we went to this cute French restaurant near Old Port called Chez Eric. We ate on the patio beacuse it was covered and enjoyed the rain and watching people scurry around trying not to get wet. We noticed these two boys standing in a door way during the down pour and when it stopped they came out and played. It was pretty much a perfect dinner.

Justin was working one of the days that I was there so I went to the Musee ded beaux-arts, and the Musee d'art contemporain, took in some bands perfomring for the jazz festival and did some window shopping at places like le perla, christain dior, gucci, louis vuitton etc. I would never go in those stores if I was in Toronto. Somehow I felt more compfortable in Montreal. The store clerks actually said hi to me and offered me assistance even though I clearly looked like I was just browsing and when I told them that they were still friendly. The bar scene is also SOOOO much better than in Toronto. People are sooooo friendly. Justin and I met a tonne of people when we went out to the bars. I never seem to meet people in Toronto when I go out. meh...oh well.

Everytime I go to Montreal it is such a wonderful experience because of the people in the city. It's SUCH a friendly environment and so much more laid back than Toronto. I would love to move there someday.

Hmm, I keep hearing good things about the city of Montreal. I might just have to plan a trip there someday.

And I have a friend of mine who lives in England. I'm sure she wishes that she could have seen those penguins in person.
