So, I just started smoking cigarettes again recently after a two month break.
I enjoy smoking, I had missed it. I have a tendency to over-do it when in social settings, to smoke is a very agreeable action when engaging in conversation. Also it gives me a reason to get out of bed if for nothing else...
But today I caught myself thinking "God damn. Smoking makes me fucking stupid!" Like biologically. All the non-smokers and the anti-tobacco fiends will tell you this, but I mean at the physical level. Smoking prevents oxygen from reaching my brain. Concordantly, my options become limited by this singular act even though I do not necessarily always realize it.
Whatever, though. I appreciate the visceral act of applying fire to the thick substance of a fragrant flavor stick. I think of those who came before me when I do this. Perhaps I should look into growing some of my own leaf to circumvent the chemicals and "enhancements" the smoke companies like to stuff into these simple treats. Time will tell the tale, as with all things...
In the meantime I hope all is well in Suicide land. I really need to plan to see one of the gals' shows at some point. Something else to look forward to.
