So I decided to go out and try to find a billiards hall or something of the like. Per the suggestion of a coworker I ended up going to a place called Peabody's just north of FSU. I find this a bit odd coming from my own mouth, but there were just too many damned kids there. I don't mean children, well maybe. Just too many young college kids who are loud and usually very drunk.
While I'm trying to remain in my semi zen state of shooting pool, I have to ignore the very loud music and people constantly walking around my table. The cherry to top it off was a drunk girl who backed into me while I was getting ready to take a shot. Not a problem in of itself, but when she tried to put an empty pitcher of beer on my head I was a little less than amused. (Side note; some of my friends will attest to the fact that I am somewhat neurotic about my hair, my defense is it's the only vanity thing I worry about. So I'm not that bad.)
Anyways, the loud music, the drunks and the smoke was a bit much for me. So I don't think I'll be going back. Not that it's a bad place, just that it's not what I was looking for. But it didn't really cost me anything. Guys play pool for free on mondays and as an old friend always says; you can't beat free with a stick.
