watched "door in the floor" last night.
wow. i really liked the film. jeff bridges is the fucking master. he is so charismatic and detailed in his characters, you can't help but like everything he does, even if the picture as a whole is uneven.
lemme rewind a little, for a crazy revelation. i was working this private event and had to dress up and i was wearing this kickass pair of trousers that i haven't worn in over a year. i reach my hand into the pocket, and whaddya know, i find some of my old concerta & ritalin (read: speed) from when i used to have a prescription. this wasn't the usual 10 mg tabs. this was like a 20 and a 54mg thing. without really thinking about it, i popped em. work was great: i was flying around, in a good mood, focused, etc., definately high out of my mind without being too high...of course i didn't eat all day. but the comedown was horrible! clenching my jaw...the whole thing. can't believe that i used to take that shit daily, in copious, copious amounts: like 2 54mg tabs! i must've been really addicted to that stuff. and i guess i only realized it yesterday....because it was prescribed, i suppose i thought i wasn't abusing it.
so...back to the top, i had to smoke a little weed to relax and i popped in the "door in the floor". wowsers.
now i'm taking a little break between the usual band business crap & correspondence...mailing cds out to promoters, etc. trying to get on a bill with a friend's band at the knit in early-mid january. work work work.
can't wait to head upstate to the clubhouse to record in february. it's just been hard trying to get a decent gig in ny before then for some reason. meanwhile my friend james' band, asobi seksu is playying the mercury lounge for new year's. oh well. i'll keep plugging away.

have not seen that bridges movie yet, i have always liked him so will have to add it to my netflix que.
