i had a big breakup today. with my good friend and bassist mark. it was ugly, and it hurt, but i had to let him go for professional reasons. doubtful our friendship will continue anytime soon but i had to do what was right for the band.
as far as the band is concerned luckily i'm already rehearsing in a new guy and he's a sweetheart and may prove to be what we so desperately needed.
but breakups hurt. he really hit me personally, which i was trying to avoid, but, i'm the heartbreaker here, not him, so i guess i should have expected it. it's hard to choose work over friendship. especially when yr friend/co-worker is seriously talented. but i believe that we'll both be better off because of it.
