saw evan dando perform last night at the Bowery. it was ok i guess.
this band cobra verde opened, and if anyone thinks they're groovy then i apologize for saying that they SUCKed SHIT. They seemed tired and sloppy. J Mascis(/!?) was playing guitar with them and it was so lame. He sounded like one of those 18 year olds who's going to GIT in Hollywood...or one of those shredders in their 40s who sits around the Guitar Center all day playing some mexican strat thru some shitty solid state amp on "Stadium" pre-programmed reverb setting way too loud, but he kinda knows someone who works there and nobody can ask him to leave.
Chris Brokaw, on the other hand was a real pro. I bought this limited edition acoustic cd that he was peddling there, and spoke to him for a little bit before the show. He picked me out coz I was wearing a "Come" T shirt.
