Looming Unemployment.....

Now with Rigoletto installed in the QET I'm out on the streets looking for work. ( my life is casual call... Which means I'm back on the dispatch list... as long as I pay my dues. ) But, it's looking really lean for March and April between now and Les Miz in late April - May. Thankfully, that's a long run into July....

hmmm, I have an intense fear of things like herpes that prevents the whole, "go downtown and pick up a random dude at a bar" thing.

Hey good luck man. I'm always in awe of the multi-tasking prowess of theater people - I can't imagine what it's like to have that many jobs!!!

E.\...F

I went to my first Burner party... Probably my last... I expected to be offered E or something.. That never happened. Maybe because it was at a licensed event location that wasn't in the cards. ( I've never been a fan of E ... it's never made me feel open or outgoing... the few times I've tried it I get a bit of a...

Booo Luis! What a jerk!!!

Umm, whats a Burner party? Is that what raves turned into? I kind of live under a rock - Edmonton's not a very happenin place, except maybe for 18 year old college kids.

The last couple times I took E it did nothing good for me, either. At first it was nice but it does eventually eat the seratonin. Pot makes me anxious, esp. the strong indica type shit people seem to favor these days.

Low Man....

So the Ballet British Columbia is back... But, they're really cost conscious... As is everyone in 2009. So, they cut back after about 7 hours on the deck. And with every Vancouver touring group sheltering in town due to the economy sucking huge down south. There's a bunch of senior road crew guys working the setup. And, for the first time in a...

Belfegore... All That I Wanted

When faced with girl problems.. I regress to junior high-school desires... the band that made me want to always be a punk....

In further internal conversations with myself, over the last few days. Regarding the flirting with Nat that's transpired thease past weeks. Three new rules when it comes to flirting backstage ( Outside of : 1. Gut instinct rules....

I liked that music video - it was cool how the buildings kept switching from left to right but the water was always in the background.... I guess that part would make more sense if I knew the locations they shot in. The running reminded me of all my favorite zombie apocalypse movies/stories.

Saw "He's just not that into you" last night - very poignant reminder of all the trials and tribulations of dating.... considering that it was basicaly just a cheesy light hearted chick flick!

Push Me... Pull You

It was going great... The pretty actress backstage was all smiles and flirtation all this last week. Hell, she started it, touching and teasing me first. Later when we all went for food between shows. She didn't freak out about the P.A. ( Prince Albert I have - She even asked questions... After I asked her about the tattoos I noticed...

Here I Go Again....

I smile to a woman on the street and that person thinks I'm about to ask her for spare change....
We soldier on.... Disconnected... connecting were we can in that rare light of the moment or emboldened by loud music , flashing lights... liquor. Yet far too often trying too hard in the wrong place at the wrong time. For what...

We live in a really wierd disconnected society. I used to love meeting friendly people on the street when I'd go wandering around on weekends, but the older I get the more I've started to avoid eye contact cause it's easier.... but then you start to miss the kindness and connection that comes with being part of a community.

Hi. Saw you in the No friends group.

Opening Night...

Some opening nights I do well. When I'm with a huge crew of guys and I'm socially adapted at making new friends. But, in a new venue ( for me...) and working a show where I'm really their due to a contractual situation.

This show could have operated without a HP person. But, it makes up for all the times I've been run...

Fools Gold...

So, It's a very easy show for me. Head Props is all mop, sweep , make coffee and prep the theatrical pistol if the Head Carpenter is busy. Set out the fake blood and wait till near the end of the show. Where I have to rig one of the actresses so it looks like she's impaled or hanging from a door hook....

The Art Of Murder....

No that's just the title of the show I'm working on.... But, it makes me wonder about the perfect crime.

The show's about an egotistic Artist who wants to kill his overbearing, abusive, user agent. And plots his demise with his wife. Without knowing that there's a double-cross involved between his loved ones and his agent. As they know his art...

Boys Who Dig Girls.. Who dig Boys When... They're Girls

So I pulled on the PVC and Rubber and went to Sin City ( As I'm working next month and will miss their Valentine's Day Event I'm certain. )

Without my regular fetish friends It's a bit lonely. I have no spur to press me on to say anything. You think this would be easy....
