The Gene-Jeanie

"The Gene-Jeanie lives on her back...The Gene-Jeannie loves chimney stacks..."

"She's outrageous, she screams and she bawls....."

"Gene-Jeanie let yourself go!!!!" do do dodo.....

I'm not feeling in control.....

It's a girl thing... it's always a girl thing. Well, no it's a reaction to a girl thing. It's really my thing.

Revenue Canada has reassessed me for 05 ( Of course I own .. I always owe. I'm a single male in Canada... we're always making too much money... cause we work too much cause we don't have someone to tell us to stop...) The Car has fuel leak somewhere. I need tires. Cute women on Skype seem to want to visit or marry me... I'm not sure.... I'm kind of giving that a rest. And as always, women here don't even know I'm alive.

I needed a buoying up. And at time s like this working on shows doesn't do it. Because, well this show is all about a guy searching for somebody ( A woman ) to love. So, work is just reflecting my current. " I'm 40, I rent, I still have a roommate no wonder women see me as a loser" feeling.

Usually theatre is my escape. But I stare down the beam of this light at a character struggling with all the same. I want somebody, but i don't want all the types relationships I see around me. And, more importantly does anyone really want me? And if they did. What do I get? Yeah, it's musical theatre it means nothing. But, I feel it. Because I feel all the work I do has some sort of truth, or reason to it because, if not why would I do it.

So my escape has been music stores. Fucking around with guitars. And I found this Gibson copy from the late 70's at odd funky, used guitar store / trade-shop. It had no silkscreen label on the headstock. Saying where it had been made. But, the pickups were Tokai and it had that real heavy solid Gibson feel that all the current licensed Gibson copies, made in China just don't. More importantly it was cheap, because the original owner has painted it this nice Indigo blue colour. Covering up the guitar's serial number. Forever making it a mystery meat guitar. The shop guys thought it was a Mann guitar. Which was the name Ibenez used in Canada in the late 70's and 80's. It did changes nice. And it had a deep tone resonation that my Epiphone SG copy just doesn't feel. The shop guy was nice, setting me up with a room and a Vox amp. Even showing me bar cord pointers, when i pointed out I was still learning.

But, after all the visits to all the other stores in town. For the first time in a guitar store I didn't feel like a voyeur. So, the very next day being payday I scoped up the guitar. Which I now believe is either a pre-law suit Tokai or an Ibenez copy of a Gibson Les Paul. Made in Japan before Gibson forced all the copiers to change the look of their guitars. But, because it's such a frank en guitar. I named it Gene - Jeanie. Partly because I can't tell if it's got a male sense or a female sense. And I named it after Jeanie, one of the first girls who I know for certain wanted me. The little teen sister of a girlfriend. Who I was desperately trying to get to sleep with me, but Christine was super catholic and wouldn't give it up for me cause I wouldn't propose. Jeanie, however, made certain that I knew she was willing to forgo all that marriage stupidity for my Cock. I'ved never know a girl since who was not completely nuts, who wanted me like that.

And, that's want I want to feel right now. I want a certain sense of attraction. And have it reciprocated. And if love for an inanimate object of desire ( I've always wanted a Gibson Les Paul but they're 1200 bucks ...) is all I can find right now while Company vexes my soul. So be it.

The Jean - Genie is a dead easy song to play. The rhythm... It's : " E E E A E E " .
