Thats me! And Me! And my Jim Mahfood shirt!

(There's no way to segue into the rest of this entry from that. Sorry)

I had quite a day with a friend of mine, right before christmas. Although this was her second christmas in New York, she hadn't done many touristy things.

So I showed her Rockefeller Center

introduced her to Santa

and, in exchange, she introduced me to a 24 hour, three story, Forever 21.

Somewhere along the way, I think I fell in love with a Disney character.

Looking back, I enjoyed the build up to christmas.

I made ginger breadmen

I watched people watching windows

Ceilings looked more interesting

the Salvation Army upped their game, a little

there were Santas falling from the sky

and santas giving me the sexy eye

I wasn't expecting anything for Christmas. I had really low expectations. I feel like all I deserve is coal. Well, kairo. Kairo are those little disposable Japanese heat packs that are primarily made of coal.

They last for hours and have the most adorable packaging ever. Thanks to my Floridian years, wearing two of them under my layers of clothing is necessary for daily survival in this weather.

I ended up buying a ton of them as a gift to myself. Then I started receiving the most amazing things in the mail! I had a really amazing Christmas. Heres some new additions to my life, as of December 25th:

All things that are going to get great use. (except for the candy bar, which already has)

I also got some new lingerie!

And a Leica, to use! Have you ever shot with a Leica camera? Its my first time using a film one, and I'm pretty excited. The last Leica camera I shot with was a AG Leica S2. It costs around $25,000.00. Holding it in my clumsy hands was nerve wracking.

My friend got me this feathered earring. I didn't think I was gonna like it. When I see people wearing them, all I can usually think of is this:

but we're getting along pretty nicely. I think it goes well with my favorite barrette, that I've assembled out of glue and beaver bones.
Perhaps, I am really a lost boy...er...girl.

The day after Christmas, we got the worst snow storm I've ever been through. I was in denial of this fact, when I went to Shake Shack in the middle of it, and ordered ice cream.

It usually takes me 5 minutes to walk home from the subway, but getting off the subway and walking into a blizzard was a completely different story. The wind was chucking hail and snow at me with such force, that I came home with open cuts on my face. The only way I could walk to not get hurt, was backwards. I walked down the middle of the street, backwards, for 30 minutes until I got to my front door. Then stayed inside until I went stir crazy. As seen in this video:

Although it was a horrible storm, I'm in LOVE with the aftermath of it all. Everything I walk by, is so surreal.

The storm has also left Desdemonia stranded here for the next couple of days! How selfishly exciting for me to have a friend stuck in town!

I lived in Japan for two years, on the northern tip of Hokkaido for one winter - we had 266 inches of snow that year. Really. I have pictures. Not with a Leica, though.

Don't you love pure Castile Soap!?! You can lay in the tub reading the bottle for, like, HOURS!

Loved your video. You're still the cutest nutcase on this site.
