It's been a crazy couple of weeks and typically I'm far behind on blogging. THe last 24 hours have been busy chatting/arguing over the tragedy in Arizona and doing a bit of drinking for a good cause. I got a new pair of fins to go with the mask and snorkel I bought earlier this week and got the shop to agree to donate something to our.community sailing program's big fundraiser in two weeks. After dropping into friends' wine bar for dinner and drinks with some other friends, I went to a different friend's bar and he agreed to donate a signature cocktail to the fundraiser as well! So all this except the dive shop part was done over drinks.
Now that's a civilized way of doing business.
I woke today without a hangover and with a big surprise in my email. My skipper has nominated me for a big award for foredeck (bowmen) in the Chesapeake Bay. I doubt I'll get it, but reading his nomination was humbling. It's nice to know people appreciate what you're doing and how you're choosing to do it.
The only thing that could make this better is if Maryland beats Duke and I somehow get snowed in with some of my favorite SGs.
