What a delightful and interesting couple of days. Last night, after my housemate decided that she would rather not take me up on my offer to fool around, I got trashed in the kitchen with two of my other housemates and discovered, upon stumbling back to my room late into the night, that there was a message for me, calling me in to work tonight for the first time in two weeks. After finally dragging myself out of bed an hour before I was supposed to be there, I managed to wake up, pop a couple of excedrin migrain, which I've been taking for most of this week as my last wisdome tooth is coming in like a beast and hurts so badly that I want to go into a coma until it's done popping up through my gums, and head out to work, still remarkably hung over. As I had yet to eat anything, I got a cookie when I got to the deli, not having time to grab anything more substantial, and proceeded upstairs to watch a hallway for six hours straight. I got to move once about every thirty minutes when someone would try to sneak up one of the side entrances, which it is my duty to guard. I am also in charge of directing people to the restroom.
Being ravenously hungry, hungover, and in considerble tooth-related pain does not make six hours of standing upright while annoying, bass-driven songs pound incessantly and young women run screaming around you pass very quickly. After it was all done I went downstairs and took advantage of my fifty-percent discount at the deli, leaving at about 2 AM, swinging by my friend CJ's apartment to talk for a while about various projects and anecdotes, and then came back home, arriving here at about 6AM, nearly out of gas, and ready to sleep for about a week straight.
Woot. My life is terribly interesting.
