I'm reading an interesting book i'm reading at the moment. It's called Porno, by Irvine Welsh, and it's basically the sequel to Trainspotting. I watched the movie, which to most people's general opinion, was pretty brilliant. However I tried to read the book and I gave up on it after a while mainly because of the author's reliance on using dodgy scottish dialects which you basically have to translate. It makes these particular chapters very torturous. If you remember the character of Begbie, which was played by Robert Carlysle in the film I think, you may remember his speech, peppered with the word cunt in most of his sentences which are usually formed like this: 'Hur ex-boyfriend was a cunt, eh battered hur, n that was oot ay order'- if you read that out loud you will get the gist of it. Anyway off the point. Well I was extremely curious to see what the characters were up to after Renton ran off with the money and I'm not being disappointed. Sick Boy's still a wheeler and dealer and after his return from London is trying to finance and film a porno movie in order to make his one true scheme work. Renton's in Amsterdam, being a successful club owner but he gets dragged into this. However Begbie is out and after Renton's blood because a)he nicked his cash at the end of trainspotting and b)he's figured out that renton's the one who was sending him gay porn in the mail while he was in prison. oh dear....
