The power of the phone
I pay all my bills online. For important things, like my mortgage payment, I pay them automatically. According to my bank statement I paid my 4/1 mortgage on 3/27 (a few days early) I get a letter in the mail yesterday saying it was past due and I owed them 140some odd late charge. I call today and I am like WTF. They advise me to go to a branch office and make ANOTHER payment and then ask them to reverse the late fee. Since I am going out of town today I decide to deal with my bank later and just make the mortgage payment. So when I go to the bank they accept my payment and tell me to hang on so they can clear the late charge, apparently they sympathzied with my issue. They come back and say that they can't reverse the charge that only someone over the phone at the loan center can! Wow! I am shocked! Usually getting someone on the phone to do anything is impossible and here I am, in person, at the bank. The gentleman at the bank tells me he will take care of it but, of course, I have to follow up because if the late payment is 30 days late they may ding my credit. I can already tell this is going to be a start to a good day.
Comcast nightmares!
I am not sure how many people out there have Comcast but let me tell you they are one piece of work company. I cancelled cable, to save myself a few bucks, and I returned my cable box today because they sent me a bill for like 600 dollars. So I cancelled well over a month ago and they are still billing me! So I go to their payment center and return the cable box that I do have and clear up the billing issues, they were actually pretty cool about it. On my way out the woman stops me and says. "You still owe 450 dollars!" I was like "What? I just returned the cable box." She tells me there is ANOTHER cable box out to the account. I have never owned more then one TV and I have had the same box forever. So she tells me to call some 1800 number and attempt to explain it to them. I say, as sarcastically as I can, I will ABSOLUTELY call them when I leave here, and I walk out!
Strange Familyl
Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with my family. My great aunt died two days ago and I was supposed to head to the beautiful city of Detroit to see a friend this weekend. So before I can talk to anyone about when the funeral is my mom tells my grandmother that I am going out of town! I was actually planning on cancelling the trip because this IS my grandmother's sister we are talking about and I did know her quiet well growing up. So I call and reschedule my plane ticket so that I can go to the wake, which is today. My mom tells this to my grandmother and she gets mad that I did that! To top it all off my parents have no idea how she died, they are not telling anyone!
Well I am gone for the weekend. I will try to get on and update people on my, oh so exciting, life when I am away. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
