Today was an interesting day. I woke up in the morning to find one of my two goldfish dead in the tank. He has been sick for a couple days and he finally went I hate it when anything dies even a little gold fish. I moved recently and had 5 fish then. For some reason the move did not treat them well and now there is only one left. They lived for 5 years which, for non-fancy, goldfish seems pretty normal. The one that is still alive was bought only 3 years ago. Anyways I now have to bury three of them as soon as the backyard dries up. I know it seems silly to bury them but I think it is the right thing to do. Also, my girlfriend of 8 years is leaving me. We have been living together for 7 years and are now calling it quits. It's going to be sad when that day comes -- 2 weeks -- and she takes the cat and dog with her. The dog is hers but the cat and dog get along so well that I am not going to separate them. I will miss all three of them. I know that I have a lot of self reflecting to do over the next few months? years? over what all went wrong. I am sure I will share a lot of it with this blog since this is generally more private. Tomorrow I hope to sit down and work on my book. I have been really slacking lately with the breakup and I really just need to get my thoughts down on paper. God knows they have been swirling around in my head for a long time.

It is 3:00am and I am still not asleep. I need to take the dog to the vet in the morning because he may have a bladder infection and crystals in his urine. I hope the crystals was a false positive because I don't think my dog can live on a controlled diet. The bladder infection seems minor though because he doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain nor is he going in the house. Oh well time to go read nite all!
