So, have you ever realized that a certain phrase or mannerism that you've been exposed to your whole life is actually exclusive to a certain group of people? I mean, being from the South, there are a lot of...colorful expressions that I've been saying my whole life, and I never even knew that they were "Southern" phrases. For example, if I'm about to go to...

Whew! School and work are kicking my ass. I have barely any time for...well, anything, haha.

So, the hotel that I work at is about to go out of business. fml. Guess I should start looking for a new job *sigh*

I'm pretty excited that I'm actually starting to get my shit planned out, though, as far as...you know. My future, haha. Most importantly, I'm...

Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving smile

Best of luck finding a new job!!

Speaking of lead foot... I usually drive (on the freeways) about 30mph over the speed limit so I always thought my first driving ticket would be for speeding or the like. This August I received my first ticket: a non-moving parking violation for parking on the road during a street-sweeping day ($45). Oh the irony... tongue

So...I'm fairly certain that the more I listen to bluegrass, the more it drastically improves my mood. Yes, I did say "IMproves." I don't know, I just...really like it, haha.

Oh, and just for the record, I hate high school. It never goes away, even though I've graduated. It follows me around, haunting me like a bad dream. I swear.

Last night there was a...

yknow, i can't really run because i used to play tennis and, as a consequence of spraining each of my ankles 3 times, i have REALLY weak ankles. I found going on the ellipticals (at the gym) to be just as effective, especially if you do interval training (one minute of extremely strenuous exercise followed by 3 minutes of slow-moderate exercise, and repeat). that might be something to look into... especially if the hotel has a gym room that you could use wink

as for healthy delivery places... you might want to look into mediterranean food. it often includes a lot of veggies, protein, and carbs all in one manageable, well balanced package. also, bologna sandwiches are relatively healthy and they take about 3 minutes to make just before you head off to work. my lunch this past summer usually consisted of a sandwich and some juice... (i freakin' love turkey bologna!!!)

you don't really have to take med related classes before med school. they really teach you everything you need to know. the only real prerequisite classes are o-chem, bio, physics, and some calculus.

i really didn't want to throw those pants out since they're almost brand new and kinda expensive so i washed them last night and took them to the dry-cleaner today. i'm gonna hope that erases any vestigial traces of the girl's happy juice....

i've never listened to bluegrass, but i'll have to try it, just because the name sounds interesting tongue

and i agree whole-heartedly... high schoolers do some stupid things. they're always skateboarding around our university campus because there are stairs and ledges and whatnot. While I don't particularly care what they do, so long as they're not defaming the campus, when it just so happens that i'm walking to class and one of their skateboards goes rogue and hits me in the leg... that's where i draw the line. they're also always rough-housing around town on the weekends in the restaurants and whatnot so if my friends and i go out to have a relaxing friday night dinner (or god forbid i should be out on a date), we have to put up with rowdy 16 year olds yelling and screaming at the table next to us, or talking loudly about who-likes-who and who-has-bad-acne on the next couch over at the coffee shop. fuck it mad

What's the name of this food taxi service? Is it a local thing? If it's nationwide, I'd love to make use of it on those lazy days when I don't feel like going to get food...

I had an uneventful, albeit pleasant, Halloween (the latest blog I wrote was about it tongue)

How was your halloween? do anything fun?

So, who wants to write a compare/contrast essay for me? Ehh? Eeehhhh? *nudge*
JDM vs. USDM. Muyyy interesante.

I swear to God, I have never sent so many faxes in my life. Some guy came in and wanted to send a 48 page fax. What the fuck. Plus there were two other people that came in, and the phone has been ringing off the hook....

At least the algebra class will be an easy A? and it should be deftly knocking out some of the general education requirements as well eh? smile

There's a comic book store 3 blocks from where I live and I'm thinking about submitting a resume there for them to have on file, if they decide to hire someone. It would make my life a lot busier, but I'd absolutely love working there so I think I'd be ok with taking on the extra work. biggrin

Oh man, speaking of diets, I was on a diet this summer. Hardest thing I've ever done, but I REALLY wanted to lose weight. Now, 3 months later, I can't eat as much as I used to be able to, and its like I'm on a perpetual diet compared to what I used to eat. I lost about 30 pounds though, so it's totally been worth it tongue Most difficult thing was learning to eat smaller portions and eating healthier.

Yeah, CSD is pretty research based. The building where all my CSD classes are has a lot of speech research labs and there are always tons of little children around because they're there to participate in experiments. And yes, the purpose is to learn about, diagnose, and cure disorders that effect speech/hearing/cognition. They also do a lot of exploratory research into ear/vocal physiology because there are apparently a lot of unanswered questions in those areas.

And yes, I can literally choose any major I want. I have friends in the program who are majoring in Classical Studies, Statistics, Sociology, History, French, and International Relations. The point of the program is to allow you freedom to study whatever you want during undergrad without negatively affecting your chances of getting into med school. You're also free to drop out if you choose, but people can't apply into the program once they're at the university.

Halloween underwear ftw biggrin

I super don't want to work tomorrow. I have to work evenings all through the weekend. FML. I'd much rather do mornings through the week, that way I still have most of the day to go & hang out, since I get off at 3. I swear, my schedule has been so messed up these past few weeks, I'd better be getting...

I'm glad you enjoyed the fruity pebbles with the frogurt. biggrin

Where do you work? I'm kind of looking for a job right now, but I know that if I got one, I'd have a hard time juggling it with school.

I'd have to agree with you about skippy being the best PB out there. I usually just get the normal kind, but once in a while I'll feel adventurous and get the crunchy one wink they both taste amazing tho (as you probably already know)

Quick explanation of my major/minor: Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) basically studies the anatomy/physiology/disorders of the vocal/hearing/visual systems and I'm doing creative writing just because I love writingsmile. I don't have to pursue this line of study in med school, but it's what I'll be getting my bachelors' in.

I'm in a program here at NU where i'm guaranteed admission into their med school after I complete my B.S. so long as i keep my GPA at a 3.2 or higher. Technically I'm free to major in anything I want just as long as I simultaneously complete all the necessary pre-med classes. I just chose CSD because I find it interesting and it will probably translate into med school well because of the subject matter (anatomy/physiology).

A girl that I dated while I was in high school wanted to be a physical therapist. She's working on her bachelors in Health Sciences (or something like that) at Univ. of CA at Irvine.

ha yes. Ghirardelli Square is the center of all the chocolate activity in SF. It just smells sweet biggrin

my favourite flavour of Ghirardelli's is the kind that's a little milk chocolate square with gooey caramel in the center.

I haven't had Dove enough to say anything about it. There's a store near where I live (it's a chain) called World Market and they have an entire aisle dedicated to candy/chocolates from around the world. It's basically my favourite place in the neighbourhood. lol.

I can't blame you for lying about your b-day though. This is a pretty awesome site, and, thanks to the internet, we've have had access to porn since we learned to type, thus completely debunking the age requirement but w/e. Rules are rules and they are meant to be broken wink

We've been conversing about chocolate and candy and frogurt for an unusually large time. lol. do you go to school? high school or college?

I'm currently a Sophomore at Northwestern Univ studying Communication Sciences and Disorders (major) and Creative Writing (minor).
angad19:
While I've never had Caramello, I do like Rolo's. They have an interesting texture, though are not high quality.

which do you prefer: dark or milk chocolate? i'm a milk chocolate kind of guy myself.

your mention of peanut butter reminded me i haven't had any in almost 3 weeks since i ran out (i've been forgetting to get it at the store). hellooo tonight's dessert wink

i got home from my morning class today around noon and my roommate had turned the fridge cold enough to make it a freezer because he was trying to freeze Yoplait yogurt to see if he could make his own frogurt. I told him that's now how it worked, and then had to turn the fridge down. Now i'm waiting for everything in the fridge to dethaw (water, soybeans, strawberries, chocolate)....whatever. The failed attempt at scientific experiment by a liberal arts major. tisk. wink

and your life plans seem awesomely solid compared to other people i've seen. there's kids in my dorm right now who are halfway through their sophomore year and they don't know what they're doing yet. mind you, they've been trying to decide for 1.5 years now, at the cost of 50K per year. it's rather ridiculous. (I'm pre-med btw).

You know, it's really not that hard to not be a bad driver.

I was driving down the road today (in the left lane) and there was a guy in front of me going like, 10 under the speed limit. Okay, whatever, just gtfo my way. So after about 10 minutes of this bullshit, he decides to switch lanes. Finally. He gets about half-way into...

Well, it looks like I'm not going to Johnson City for Halloween after all, and I'm very upset about this. Fuck my life.

I'm still dressing up, idgaf.

Somehow the heater under the window just got too hot, and the curtains that were draped over the heater got all burnt n shit.
