I'm actually getting a lot of responses to my temporary roommate ad on craigslist...I'm not sure how to judge anyone who responds or how to respond to them, really. I've made some kind of a chart...I'm a nerd, but I think it helps me organize. I'd never make it in an HR department.
So many people are from out of town, it's not like I can really meet them or show them the place before they move in. That scares me. I'd rather find someone I can go meet for coffee and show them the place in person first.
eek. I'm scared of the strangers, but some of them might work out. How do you know if they'll pay you, or not break/steal your stuff? Scuuuuurrrry!!!
UPDATE:
I've actually got a pretty good feeling about who I'll offer the place to after having a long and nice phone convo with a guy tonight about the place and each other.
It's a bit freaky that I might have to work it out with him before I meet him in person or show him the place, but what more do you really know from seeing someone in person that you don't get from talking to them for a while...I mean unless he has a tattoo that says "I kill people and take their stuff" on his face (which you must admit, would be fucking BADASS), anything you're going to really learn about someone in regards to living with them is learned only from actually living with them. right? right?
Anyway, I'll check a few more of these people out, and unless anyone else becomes obviously more sufficent, I'll probably suck it up and tell this guy he's all set.
Now I'm pretending to be all together and rational about it, but really I'm still nervous and ill.
-Worked until friggin 10pm today, got home at around 10:35, and am now unwinding, drinking a beer and listening to the late, great French crooner Charles Trenet while thinking about what to do about dinner.
