HEY LOOK, it's my first ever journal entry on SG from work!
Ok, so yeah, I'm not dead. Basically, it comes down to I was doign all this homework finishing my animation final for my last class on monday night, which also happened to be my first day at the new job, so I was pretty much crunching all week and being all kinds of antisocial and exhausted.
Also, I wanted to work out going out somewhere in there since I never really ot to celebrate my birthday. I had all these intentions to finish up the homework by friday afternoon so I could go to a crazy ass thing on friday night, then have an insane weekend, but strange happenings and wierd cimputer issues brought that to be unlikely.
So as i turns out, I stayed up all night Friday animating, then went out Saturday night, which turned out to be a strange enough event in it's own right. Long story short: Hello, chemicals, goodbye homework. Hello cute crazy girls and stimulating paint colors, goodbye sleep on saturday. Hello, snuggly exhaust-o-sleep with one good friend and one new one, goodbye any chance of NOT being up all night Sunday finishing the homework in a brain-flushed haze.
So, Monday was a little wierd, first day of the new job, followed by last day of the old class, which also went well, the project was well recieved, despite hardware issues in viewing it. Bastard computer bastards.
The new job seems pretty good, the kind of thing that would have really hit the spot say...a year and a half ago when I decided to resort to retail. I can't say that it's really a creative position, or that it's utilizing my skills and abilities or personality in the best way possible, but it beats the hell out of what I was doing for a day job. All of a sudden I have a whole new level of day job that I need to remember It's still my goal to eventually get to quit.
This week: adjusting to a normal work-day schedule and trying to get to sleep at normal times, and possibly kickass HELLBOY activities and a chill but kickass idea for a party on saturday.
-I feel like some kind of a human being, it's really not something I'm ready to deal with.
..seriously wierd stuff
Dave

Glad to hear the class went well, and that the new job's rocking just a bit. And think. It's just the start.
