@fullfeeling this made me laugh, my best friend moved to San Diego two years ago and she has said the exact same thing!!

And SD is so super mellow compared to NY! My cousin visited me in NY from Iowa when she was 18. She managed the airplane and subway and walk to my place by herself, and the first thing she said was "There are no fat people - it's weird. And everybody walks so FAST!" And I was like, "Yeah, nobody's fat here because they walk everywhere they walk so FAST!"
