As well, last night I went and watched Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy! I do believe that they did a rather good job of adapting the book, and I'm glad that they left out as much as they did. Fitting the entire book into a two hour movie would be as futile as fitting a whale into my bathtub.
What they didn't leave out, they did a damn good job with. I've seen the old BBC version, and the casting in the new version is MUCH better. Trillian is no longer a blonde ditzy annoying bimbo and is now a smart sexy burnette, much improved
So we got the tickets to the first showing of the movie and we even brought towels! An essential item for any true Hitch Hiker's fan!
