listening to Steven Jesse Bernstien's "Prison" which I really fucking like. I first heard atrack from it, "No No Man" almost ten years ago on the car stereo of a friend of mine in Cedar City who was a proffessor of Art at the University. I had one hell of a crush on her.
I bought this cd--used--in CC a couple of days ago. things come full circle. in between then & now I kinda sorta dated a girl who said that she'd waited on Bernstein at the coffee shop she worked at in Seattle during the last few months of his life
(I never really questioned whether this was "true" or not. it just doesn't really matter.)
& for a number of years I had a roommate in SLC who could, & often did (especially when drunk) do pitch-perfect renditions of all of the pieces.
but I don't think I'd ever really listened to it all the way thru until a couple of days ago.
