Found the Flim Flam in my pajamas
snarling up the place with his scenty arpeggios
cracking his knuckles & crinkling his wrinkles
Swilling grape soda & flashing his winkle
getting triscuit crumbs all over the place
Caught the Flim Flam sneaking into the movies
a saucy little flick flickerin
--something Danish, the film
vowels being dourly swallowed
he's munching on licorice & snickering
Came upon the Flim Flam dozing in a beanbag
zipper down, toes curled
rumbling rumbling rumbling
Fit the Second
The Flim Flam snuck into the Five & Dime
where they know enough to hide the door
when down the block stumbles the moustachioed
the pajama'd & slippered
the coiffed & glazed
the bawdy-song-singing
the fire alarm ringing
that magnificent bastard the Flim Flam
The Flim Flam sidles sideways
& oozes some charm on the eyebrow'd girl
who's checking her nails & chonking her gum
& greasy little pleasantries frost & crack
& scatter steely bouncing on the tile
the Flim Flam fiddles with his collar
Shuffling crablike along the counter
the Flim Flam striving to catch
just a bounce, just a little flash
of cleavage light from the eyebrow'd girl
Nope.
The Flim Flam timidly rustles his throat
(Flim Flam phlegm--Hah!)
& gets, for his trouble,
a glacial twitch of eyebrow
a glistening curl of lip
a pointed shaft of stare
an impatient little hmpf
a slightly widened nostril
an accusation of eyeshadow
--a haughty little squeak of chair
Fit the Final
Pity the Flim Flam!
the tightening throat of the Flim Flam!
the dampening jammies! the fat little tongue!
the shrinking scrotum! the clenched behind!
the idioitically blinking Flim Flam,
Oh pity what he has become!
The eyebrow'd girl from her perch
regards the puddle of Flim Flam
& sniffs, & snorts,
& resumes gazing into her nails.
The Five & Dime slopes to the doorway,
it seems, & under the shiny brass crack,
percolates our old friend the Flim Flam
a Flim Flam that shan't come back.
A deflated Flim Flam flopped to the beanbag,
sulked into his soda,
& crumbed up the place,
& vowed he'd win the eyebrow'd girl
as he splashed more Brut on his face.
