babysat little niece & nephew the other night--he's five, she's 2, & they're both the greatest.

one thing that little niece has been doing--& I'm not sure how common this is, is to leave the first letter off of most of her words, I'm "onavin" daddy is "addy", a snack is "nack" & so on. I don't think it's a speech impediment because she's fairly articulate for someone who is still learning the finer nuances of the English language such as when to use "who" or "whom", avoidance of double negatives, & that yes, perhaps the "itty" is sometimes a "tupidhead", it is nonetheless important when one cannot find something nice to say about the itty, one should say nothing.

anyway, it seems like each time I go over, she has a new "thing" that she does, so while little nephew was trying, with infinite patience, to show his uncle how to play "Ratchet & Clank", little niece had transformed into a "ombie", & was lurching around & growling in an attempt to eat my brain, "etter atch out! I'm a OMBIE!!! grrr...grrr...", which would've been rather frightening were she not a foot& a half high, cute as a button & wearing a pink "Hello Kitty" t-shirt.

ratsonjulia:
clarification of above:

the "itty" in question is Greymalkin (or "aymalkin"), a tiny little ball of tortoise-shell fur that contains, possibly, more malevolence in a space the size of a hard roll than the entire Bush Administration, who loves nothing more than fastening on, & placidly gnawing on, exposed flesh. often little niece would walk across the living room & be taken down like a chubby little gazelle in those nature films, except that gazeeles aren't known to say "Aymalkin! Tupidhead!"
