it's been awhile.
haven't been on the computer much, except for email.
I've been plucking away at the guitar, making glacial, incremental progress--last night I, don't ask me how, slept on one of my fingers wrong--one of the IMPORTANT ones, it turns out--& it just won't move the way I ask it to & just sits there, throbbing.
started my fourth year at the Prison. I expected to just stick around for a few months, snaffle a few paychecks & head for the open road, my knapsack on my back. but no.
also, I have a new cat. I hate to say this, but I don't think that I'll keep her, & have been hunting around for a Good Home for her. she's a good cat (a puffy little Himalayan with one ear I've named, predictibly, Vincent) but she just doesn't Get Along with the other cats &, after a period of being bullied by them as the New Cat, has been Bullying Back for the past few months & the house has been a fairly constant war zone.
also, a young woman I am Rather Fond Of (who just visited from Wisconsin a little while back) is going to Ecuador for 2 years (Peace Corps). she wants me to come with her & I'm debating, but....
another young woman I'm also RFO just moved down to Mexico & also wants me there, but...
yet another young woman is moving to SLC & wants me there, but...
yet another young woman from SLC is coming here in a couple of days. just for a visit, but...
woe is me.

haven't been on the site for a while. checked The Boards for a few minutes & was a bit Disheartened to see that it's even more Right-Wing & , not to put too fine a point on it, idiotic than I remembered.

as it is, it's a grey morning & I'm drinking beer (which is OK because I work graveyard, so it's techni'ckly late at night for my internal clock) I want to play guitar but can't & I'm still trying to massage my face back from the scowl it assumed as GW Bush gave his little "press conference" this morning. (Dear God, thought I, How how HOW did this man get re-elected? HOW is he the leader of the most powerful country in the world? &, God, if yer listening, please kill him. amen)
