major chunk of uncertainty about my upcoming vacation has solidified.
I'm going to the RNC in New York!
the sort-of-plan is that I'll go to Madison WI next week, meet up with galfriend, & we'll join up with a convoy of protesters who've rented a trio of buses going NYC-way.
however, I'd also like to be accompanied by another galfriend working near Reno. I told her about the plan & she's hot to go, except that her window of opportunity is a bit narrower.
my plan was to drive to Reno, spend a night or 2 in hot, sweaty embrace with galfriend #1, catch one of the frequent & cheap shuttle-flights betwixt Reno & Milwaukee, have galfriend # 2 pick us up & take us to Madison, where the three of us would get re-aquainted, socially & sexually, get on the bus, make some noise in New York (arrangements have been made for crashing on floors in NYC), going back to Madison, enjoying a light snack, then galfriend # 1 & I would fly back to Reno.
a rather jolly, politically aware time for all, agreed self & galfriends 1 & 2, except, as I've just discovered after a few hours of trolling around on the 'net, THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS CHEAP SHUTTLE FLIGHTS 'TWIXT RENO & MILWAUKEE.
we'll figure something out.
as it stands, I have the next few days off, I have to go back to the prison for 12 hours on Friday, then I'm off until the 3rd of September. without that little speed-bump of a Friday, I would've had the entire last half of August off. (I just didn't have enough hours to cover it.)
anyway, that's the plan. if you live in the Madison area, look into the bus trek, as it promises to be rather fierce.
