ah, spring.
starting to get that nice twinkly slant of light, buds budding, birds twittering, & a jug of suntea steeping on the shading-from-pale-straw-to-green lawn.
youngest (&, paradoxically, tallest) sister came back from college in Fargo with her boyfriend (seems like a decent guy, but their giggly we're so in love, hands in each others back pockets, baby-talk, late-teens-early-twenties, sweet valley high kinda thing they got going got a bit stomach-churning fast) & we went with the other sister out to the town we grew up in & spread some of mom's ashes where we grew up & the barren chunk of land where she grew up (the house was moved years ago).
also: a co-worker at the prison was killed a few days ago. not AT the prison, but coming home--he was buying a motorcycle & taking it on a test drive when--something happened--& he ran into a cliff face going 100+ miles an hour. I worked with him a few times & he sort of reminded me of a foul-mouthed gnome--very short, very bald, 150 years old or so--but an all around decent guy. it's thought that he might've had a tremor in his hands or that he might've done it on purpose.
