situation developing which could be wonderful, could be a disaster, could just plain not happen--
was approved for annual leave the last week of December, during which I'll probably fly to NYC for a few days to see my partner & become briefly re-aquainted with civilization.
recieved phone call from a woman I became somewhat involved over the summer, who I kinda think I could seriously fall for, have fallen for, who's given every impression of having fallen for me--but this whole being seperated by half the united States is a bit of an impediment.
discussed the possibility of meeting up in NYC. this could be a lot of fun. my partner is the best friend I have, & we almost always have a good time together.
but there's the whole thing about me being still very much in love with her. I've made no secret about our relationship--or whatever it is--to woman number 2 (let's call her "Trillian")
further, Trillian has expressed...interest..in Partner &, having known Partner for maybe 7 years, can say with confidence that Trillian is exactly Her Type.
at which the mind boggles a bit. in a good way.
but mind also remembers a similar situation a few years ago when Partner visited me in SLC & she, myself & another very good friend (let's call her "V") got involved in a bit of good-natured shenanigans which resulted in very good memories for self, but a complete & total rift between Partner & V, with the end result being that to this day they Just Can't Stand Each Other.
(maybe 6 months after, when I was living in NYC with partner, V came to visit me & Things Went Badly--well, actually, things went great with V, things were pretty good with Partner, but when brought together in the same room the walls crusted over with frost)
so there's that.
additional wrinkle: if Trillian comes, she'll probably be coming with her ex-boyfriend, who she was With when I first met her, who she split up with a few months before we began--whatever it is we began--with whom she's currently living, although she says she can't stand him.
we'll see what happens, eh?
(actually, there's a number of Even Deeper Wrinkles, which I won't even begin to go into at the moment.
