heart-dropping moment today when I drove home from work to see one of my cats lying in the middle of the road in front of my house--she got up & started for the front door as I got closer. I was relieved & pissed at the same time (this is one of those heartwarming little rural towns where most of the salt-of-the-earth types speed up & aim when they see a cat on the road)

one of those things about cats: you can get mad at them, but there's really nothing you can do about it. yelling at a cat is like yelling at a Buddhist Monk.

since the weather's been warm, I've been leaving the front door open when I'm home & one of the windows open while I'm at work for the cats to get in&out, but it looks like it's going to be lock-down for a while.
