from the Dumb Irony Department:

my mother passed away several months ago & my sister & I have done as much as we could as far as "wrapping up loose ends" go, but we're still working on buying a headstone for her hometown--& they ain't cheap.

we had her address changed to mine, & every few days I'll get a piece of mail addressed to her (usually catalogs)--the fact that mail keeps coming, combined with the thus-far non-purchase of a stone & non-performance of a memorial service sort of contributes to this feeling I have that she's just away on a trip somewhere (even tho she was never really much of a traveler.)

people knock denial all the time, but I say, "whatever works, eh?"

over the past couple of weeks I've gotten maybe 5 or six offers, adressed to my mother, for life insurance, most with the qualifier that "YOU CANNOT BE TURNED DOWN, REGARDLESS OF HEALTH!!"

I'm tempted to test the veracity of that....
