the other day I had a very compelling (&, now, mostly forgotten) dream about the baksashi, the demon of Indian mythology with the body of a man or woman & the head of a tiger.
the idea has been marinating in my head for a couple of days for a story in which the baksashi plays a part--maybe sort of a parody on the current Hysteria over Terrorism with a baksashi in the role of an Ossama Bin Laden-type figure.
then I went on the net a little bit ago & couldn't find a single reference to the baksashi--(but a lot of links to Ralph Bakshi, the animator & director)
questions: Does anybody know anything about Indian mythology?
is there a tiger headed demon named "baksashi", or is this just one of those words that the dreaming mind cobbles together for an image & then spews back into the waking mind?
isn't "baksashi" a cool name for a tiger-headed demon?

I 'd read it again several times since... in French, of course. I think it's time for starting reading it in English....
Your project sounds interesting... any hope to read more soon?
.. and thanks for the good luck, it will be needed!
