3 day weekend coming up (which I put in for about 7 months ago) but I'm not sure if I can head anywhere as my car started hemhorraging fluid about a week & a half ago, which was diagnosed by friends as being either a faulty water pump (300$ to fix) or a faulty radiator cap (4$ to fix)--hoping, naturally, that it's the latter I...

the idea I have for the CREEP2004 website is so close to Dennis Miller's recent behavior, that I kinda wonder if I shouldn't just let him do the job

Indeed.
some words from Mr Mark Twain:
In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
- Notebook, 1904
Man is the only Patriot. He sets himself apart in his own country, under his own flag, and sneers at the...

I can't get you out of my head
And I can't get you out of my mind
And I'd say
I can't get you out of my heart but
(Chorus)
Baby, you stole my heart
I don't know what to do without you
And I keep thinking all about you
With my heart
I'd go anywhere for you
Anywhere you asked me to
I'd do...

(from a Radiohead parody "O.K. I Did It Again" in Modern Humorist, but I'm guessing not many have scrolled down this far)
I turned thirty last week, which wasn't quite as traumatic as I thought it would be, & I have to admit that I'm sorta looking forward to my thirties (like I have a choice) (well, yes, I guess I do, but let's not go there)
for the most part, I try to keep to a philosophy of learning from my mistakes & regretting nothing (which...

random thing:
since the build-up to the War in Iraq I've been getting most of my news from the British Press which, to me, seems a bit less sycophantic, plus the slightly different "flavour" of English will often draw my attention to something I might otherwise slide over.
anyway, last night I read an article that led me to believe that William S. Burroughs was...

I had a pretty good b-day, thanks for asking.
I was going to drive to SLC, but for some reason decided to call a friend in Reno before embarking, & it turned out that she was driving here to suprise me.
so I decided to stay here. to be surprised.
did some hiking, barhopping, babequeing, visiting & such-like.

I'm not sure what the transformation into a respectable grown-up of thirty involves, but I've always envisioned something involving pulsating extra-terrestrial pod-things.

Yeah, that's the part I never understood about the anti-homosexuality stance. They have a right to find anything they want morally objectionable, but why do they want to legistlate that? Why do they want to interfere in other people's lives so badly? And why are the people that want to legislate sexuality so often the same people who talk about how government intrustion is bad?
MoveOn.org is conducting it's primary today (& yesterday) & I think it's something worth checking out.
(for what it's worth, I read thru all the candidates positions & it seems to me that Dennis Kunich seemed closest to what I'd like to see in a President, (but I also thought that Nader had a genuine shot--&, to be honest, still do--so there ya go.)
