Now is probably a good time to explain my job. I'm only going to have it for about three more weeks.
I work at Home Hardware, in their Garden Centre. My official title, I believe, is 'tree manager.' I'm in charge of the entire tree department. Don't get too excited, I'm the only person in it. Unofficial, every one just calls me the tree guy. I've labeled myself a tree herder.
My job consist of watering, maintaining, and organizing all the trees we sell (rough estimate is around 1000 at the beginning of the year.) I also have to help customers carry trees and other bitchy jobs like that.
I have no idea how I landed this job. I just applied at the store, and they told me I would be in charge of the trees. I knew next to nothing about trees, except that they had leaves and grew in the ground (and how to identify a larch from quite a long ways away.)
But I've only got three weeks left, and I'm not going back next summer. I just hope I can find a job I like in Saskatoon.
