My latest self shot set has turned out so well! I had good luck with a hotel room with large windows and a white walled space, which made it very easy to work with a single light source. I didn't have to change my settings much, which was a relief as self shooting is quite difficult and tiring as it is without leaping back and forth messing around with the settings.
I finished all editing today and submitted immediately after. It's probably the best set I've shot as I've got a lot of practice in since I last did anything for the site, so I knew what lens would be best and what kind of room. If all goes well I'll likely attempt another in a few months as none of the sets currently live on my profile really look like me anymore! My first set was bought around 2016 so it's been quite a journey since I was first a Hopeful.
Even in the last year alone I've changed! I've finished my course of braces, totally reshaped my eyebrows, and overall I was feeling ready to return with my current knowledge and appearance. It does feel a bit strange coming back as I never actually intended to go anywhere haha, there were simply a lot of failed attempts at sets in the meantime and because of how much energy it took out of me I was anxious to go again 🤣
I shoot pretty much everything myself now. I am open to other photographers shooting me for SG again at some point obviously, but I love having creative control even if the workload is intense and requires a lot of energy.
One thing I do miss is the community from when I was most active as many of my friends from that time have moved on to other things, so that's bittersweet ❤️ miss you guys!
