Hey guys! Many of you will have seen my latest set shot by @valo which is a pin up inspired theme 😊 We Suicidegirls are, after all, the daughters of Bettie Page, and I would dearly love a classic pinup set to be featured as SOTD. I feel like this set is my best work to date- the styling, the lighting, just every shot is a moment of pride for me.
Those od you who follow me on social media will know that I dress pinup on a daily basis! It's how I feel most comfortable; I can't rememeber the last time I wore jeans or went out without bright lipstick on! Some of my biggest pinup inspirations are Dita Von Teese, Violet Chachki, Marilyn Monroe, Betty Draper from Mad Men, Rachel Maksy (the Pinup Companion on YouTube), quirky girls like Emilia Clarke's character in Me Before You and Zooey Deschanel- I love to feel quirky yet classic and feminine.
Sometimes I feel pressured to 'dress down', to have flat hair and natural makeup. There's a time and a place for that, but being that way 24/7 would quash my personality. I love bright colours, small waisted silhouttes, nylon stockings and suspended belts. I love people striking conversations up with me in the street about my fashion sense, and brightening other people's days. The way I dress and style myself makes me so happy and I feel that came across in this set!
@valo is one of my best friends and we always joke about how differently we dress, the complete opposite things we're into. Regardless she has an eye for bringing out my personal style in the best possible way, and she deserves this set to be appreciated for all the effort she puts in not only for me but for every shoot. It would male me immeasurably happy to see this set hit the Front Page and get the love I feel it and @valo both deserve ❤
